Perception of stakeholders on current perfusion education in Malaysia

Perfusionist is known as a certified medical technician liable for extracorporeal oxygenation of the blood during open-heart surgery. Current curriculum believed to be at par and aligned with National Occupational Skills Standard, however, scope perfusion practice keeps changing advancement technology procedures, there demand specialty area such membrane (ECMO). Therefore, current should re-evaluated by taking consideration from multiple stakeholders’ perception on needs, content, educational strategies, teaching methods, assessment management. Hence, this study aimed explore stakeholders in evaluating education Malaysia. In context present study, Malaysia were referred private providers, manager, educators, advance diploma holders, perfusionist, pensioners. This was qualitative which involved in-depth interview approach. A total 10 participated chosen though purposive sampling. The guided semi-structured questions participant’s perception. participants approached list obtained Malaysian Society (MAPS). interviews conducted face-to-face or virtually.
